1933, an enterprising Singaporean hit upon the idea to sell Bakkwa (barbecued meat) from his mobile stall by peddling on the streets of Chinatown. Business was especially good during the festive seasons.
As years go by, this tradition of having Bakkwa is still being passed down through the generations as a must-have delicacy during Chinese New Year and many other festive occasions.
